Week of February 21st

Dear 4A Families,

I hope you all enjoyed the chilly President’s Day/ Winter Break.  I was so impressed with the amazing, creative and clever Valentine boxes the students created!
ZZ0C5B585BI would like to extend a big thank you to our room mom Michelle Porth and all of the parents and that helped out and contributed supplies for our Valentine’s Day party last Tuesday. Thank you as well for all of my sweet valentines and goodies!

This will be a short newsletter due to the short week.
Just a few  reminders for this week:

Religion: Due to the two short weeks we have had, we will be changing the date of the Sacrament Test to next Tuesday, the 27th.  Those students that have been practicing and would like to take the test this week may do so on Thursday as originally scheduled.

Social Studies: The rivers and lakes of the United States test will take place next Thursday, March 1st.  All students should have study sheets in their binders. Extra copies can be accessed here. Remember, there is also an online practice site for the test.

Look for math homework on Wednesday and Thursday.

Spelling words for next week’s test will be in your child’s filer on Friday.

Every 4th grade student should be reading and taking notes on his/her oral biography book. Talk with your child what they are learning! Be sure to let me know if you have any questions about this project.  In class next week we will go over note taking, planning and presentation tips for the project.

Just a few uniform reminders:

*  Skirts, skorts, jumpers, and shorts must be no shorter than 3″ above the kneecap.  We’ve been noticing some shorter skirts, shorts, skorts and jumpers- please check and make sure your child’s uniform is in compliance, particularly if they have grown over the winter!

*  Socks and tights- must be predominantly one color (red, white, navy, or black) and no leggings!  Students may wear leggings as tights under jumpers only if socks are worn that will cover the indication they are leggings.

*  On perfect uniform days ( please make sure students wear a white shirt with a red Holy Rosary sweater, sweatshirt, or vest.

  • Be sure that shirts are long enough to tuck in–and stay tucked in.  Thank you!

If you have not done so already, please plan to make one or more Lunches of Love.  You have until the end of February.  Thank you so much for your generosity.

Enjoy the week!
